NEWS LETTER
FOR THE END OF THIRD TERM, 2012/2013 SESSION
We are grateful to
Almighty God that the term started and ended well in spite of the academic load
that characterized it. The external graduating examinations like SSCE, NECO and
our internal promotion examination witnessed no problem. The staff and
students/pupils rose up to the occasion in the various academic programmes of
this term while parents/guardians responded to our periodic invitations for
deliberations on one development or the other. Glory be to God.

active and concerned parents whose innumerable roles brought the institution

SCHOOL FEES
We thank you for
responding to payment of school fees even though the economy is facing a hard
time. Payment of school fees for next term should be made on or before the
reopening day, 23rd September, 2013. We pray that God will provide for you the
money to make this payment.
DISCOUNT ON SCHOOL
FEES
Recall that one of the
issues discussed during the Lagooz Parenting Seminar on 6th July, 2013 was the
discount on payment of school fees thus:
i.
If you
pay in full for a whole year (3 terms) at once on or before 16th September,
2013, you will be entitled to 10% discount which you should withdraw from
source and pay the rest to the school.
ii.
If,
however, you pay one term’s fee in full before the reopening day on 16th September,
2013, you should be entitled to 5% discount which you should withdraw from
source as above.
iii.
However,
if you refer any student from another school to Lagooz Schools for admission,
the following categories of discount will apply on full payment of school fees:
i.
30%
discount for relatives of existing parents/guardians, staff and friends
ii.
20%
discount credited to the school fee account of the referrer/parent
iii.
50%
discount for parents who bring another biological child withdrawn from another
school to Lagooz Schools.
iv.
10%
discount for any new parent who brings another student for admission and full
payment.
v.
10%
discount for the new student referred by the new parent.
The discounts are not applicable to pupils
and students in Creche, Lower and Upper Reception classes and JSS1.
ADMISSION TO
LAGOOZ SCHOOLS
Those seeking admission
to Lagooz Schools (Primary and Secondary) are subjected to Aptitude Test after
which their admission is processed.
However, admission to
any of the classes next term is a continuous process depending on when the
candidate for admission comes to the schools and availability of space.

BOARDING
FACILITIES
Lagooz operates hostel
facilities for both the boys and girls. The following facilities are available:

for computer training, music, arts and craft, physical and health education
(aerobics)

LAGOOZ SUMMER COACHING
Lagooz
Summer Coaching is going to take a new dimension where English Language and
Mathematics will become the core subjects, in addition to Entrepreneurial
Skill. By this measure, students will undergo series of practical work aimed at
skill acquisition in order to fit in well in the present congested labour market
on graduation. So, attendance to this capacity building exercise is mandatory
to all students. Summer Coaching will
begin on 5th August, 2013. Each student is required to pay the sum of six thousand naira (N6,000) for logistics covering the period 5th to 30th August, 2013.
This is an innovation in the school system and should be taken seriously. This
exercise/coaching includes pupils in Nursery/Primary schools and the payment is
five thousand naira (N5,000) per pupil
while nursery section will pay four thousand five hundred naira (#4,500) each.
In order to accommodate e all our students, both boarding and transportation
facilities will be available for use at affordable rats.
LAGOOZ CRECHE
This is the
section for babies whose parents are:
i.
Civil servants
ii.
Business men and women
iii.
Busy mothers etc.
The babies are taken proper care of by women (mothers) who
nurse them like their real mothers. These women stay with the children till 6:00pm.
The children are kept in adequately ventilated and hygienic rooms befitting

CO-CURRICULA ACTIVITIES
Lagooz organizes
excursions and other activities such as:
i.
Sports
ii.
Club activities.
iii.
Arts and Crafts
iv.
Quiz and debates
v.
Excursions.
vi.
Cake baking
vii.
Soap making
viii.
Bead stringing
ix.
Fishery etc.
The students have visited places in Nigeria, West African sub-region and Europe. Again, they have participated in external
competitions with other schools in sport, quiz and debates and have always come
out tops. Besides, they have proved their mettle in entrepreneurial skills like
soap making and baking of cake.
